Prior to the Part 107 Rules, the FAA clearly defined what was considered commercial UAS flights and what was hobby use.  After the Part 107 rules go into effect on Monday, August 29th, some of what was considered hobby use will now require a Remote Pilot Certificate.  Forbes has a great article reviewing this dilemma for hobbyist that some folks may not be aware of.  Will this change some of your thoughts on whether or not you need to acquire an RPC?  How many of you plan on obtaining your RPC just to cover your bases?

The 3DR study site is really solid, as is the official FAA remote pilot study guide.  I’d also recommend grabbing a sectional aeronautical chart for your airspace for comparison to help decipher what’s going on in those sample questions!
